HRR October 2018 Driving Tour

We are pleased to announce the destinations of our October 20th “Fall Colors and Tables by the Lake Tour”. Our destination city will be Hendersonville to visit two larger collections. Both have some very interesting vehicles and have been courteous enough to allow our club to view them. We will also be dining at “The Rudder”  at Anchor High Marina which is located on the water of Old Hickory Lake. The atmosphere of this restaurant is very relaxing where we will have a private room which overlooks the lake and marina.

Lunch will be a variety of wraps, iced tea, lemonade, soft drinks  and a couple of side dishes (coleslaw and potato salad). Due to the size of our group we will need a count of people attending lunch here so that a total can be derived to accommodate the group. Depending on the number attending lunch here, the total cost per person including 18% gratuity and 9.75% tax will be in the $15 to $18 range per person unless you order extras on your own. Again, this is a catered lunch and we have to give them a week’s notice as to how much food to order so we can divide up the total amount by the number of people dining here. ALSO, the restaurant will be collecting the total amount from Russ Barnes, SO each member will pay Russ the predetermined amount. Please bring the exact amount of cash to make is easy on Russ.

What is needed next from you by Saturday October 13
  • Indicate via email whether or not you plan on attending lunch at The Rudder (if you decide to eat on your own there are ample restaurants in this area)
  • Indicate the number of people you are responding for
  • RESPONSES NEEDED NO LATER THAN SATURDAY OCTOBER 13
  • Email your responses to Vic Torasso; vtorasso@aol.com
Let’s get our collectible iron or fiberglass out and enjoy the fall weather. Ample parking is available and we will be able to keep the cars corralled together. Directions will be sent in a separate email a few days ahead of the tour. For now plan on leaving Loafers Glory at 8:30 am sharp on Saturday, October 20th. If you plan on meeting up with the group at either collection please do not arrive before 10:00 am or 2:00 pm.

HRR February 2018 Driving Tour – Lane Motor Museum

Honk, Rattle & Roll Members,

It’s a new year and time to prepare for another exciting schedule of driving tours! Our first will be to the Lane Motor Museum in Nashville on February 17th. For those not familiar with the museum, it features mostly unique European automobiles from the past sprinkled with cars from other areas, many of which you won’t find anywhere else. The facility is 132,000 sq. ft. and was the former home of the Sunbeam Bakery. Our tour will be self-guided thru the public upper floor area while a member of the Lane staff will guide us through the lower level.

As usual, Russ Barnes has created a scenic route to the museum over areas of Rutherford, Wilson and Davidson Counties. A route map will be emailed soon.

We plan to depart from “Loafers Glory” at 9:30 A.M.  Coffee and donuts will be available beginning at 8:30. We will also have displays of our HRR wearing apparel, hold another 50/50 raffle similar to the one at the Christmas party, and conduct the drawings for the HRR web site featured cars. You will also have time to see Tom’s collections as well.

Upon arrival at the Lane Museum, a Jason’s Deli box lunch will be served in their meeting room. The box will contain either chicken salad or ham sandwiches, chips, desert and iced tea. Other drinks are available via museum vending machines.

The cost for the Lane tour and lunch is $20.00 per person and will be collected before departing Loafers Glory. CASH ONLY PLEASE!
