Christmas Party – December 3, 2022

It was an overcast, rainy day but it did not dampen the spirits of those that gathered for the Annual Honk Rattle and Roll Christmas Gathering.  St. Paul Episcopal Church located in Murfreesboro graciously opened its doors allowing us to gather at no cost to the club.  Many club members arrived early Friday and Saturday to setup tables, decorate the room in preparation of 60 club members which attended the gathering, starting at 5:00 PM, Saturday, Dec 3.  We had a wide variety of delicious food such as fried chicken, sliced ham, appetizers, large variety vegetables and casserole’s, covering tables about 24 feet in length.  Then there was the dessert tables stretching about 16 feet covered with such a wide variety of cakes, pies, brownies, cookies and more. Then there were beverages galore to satisfy every desire.

We had about a dozen door prizes ranging from books, Christmas decor, tools and more.  Each table had a center piece one large and one small with the oldest person at each table taking home the large and the small went to the youngest. As part of the festivity, the group performed a few Christmas songs to get the Christmas spirits flowing.  The Christmas spirit of giving was also present with the HR&R covering a large table with warm gloves and stocking caps, all donated to help those in our community in need of some assistance.  Moreover, of course enough cannot be said of the fellowship, smiles and laughter shared by the group.

Our club owns a big “Thank you and Job Well Done” to Paul and Melanie Collins for their work in putting this awesome party together, Janet Fulton and Cindy Jones as greeters at the door, David Huskey for the asking God’s blessing for our great meal, Melanie Collins for leading the Christmas songs and providing an fun Christmas game with prizes, Bruce and Alice Gibson for the slide presentation and music, Arleen Timbs for the photography, Tom Collins for chairing the business meeting  and everyone who came early on Friday and helped on Saturday with setup and clean-up. Thanks to everyone who attended!
