Matt The first H.R.&R. driving tour for 2017 is history. Our thanks go out to the Barnes and Wilsons for organizing this event.
33 members and friends met at Collins’ Loafers Glory on February 18th for the trip to the Corvette Museum in Bowling Green, KY. The weather was overcast with light rain. However, Butch Roth said that light rain or mist doesn’t count against his record for predicating good weather for a driving event.
Historic Granville announced today that their 2017 theme will be “ 1940’s: A Decade of Change- Thanks for the Memories”. The 1940’s will be a year long celebration which will begin when the 2017 season opens on March 9th. Pictured in front of Sutton General Store is some of the 2017 scarecrows created by Granville resident Cynthia Mathews which represent soldiers that were in Granville during World War II Maneuvers as well as wives and girl friends that came to visit them while they were stationed in Granville. The 1880 Sutton Home will feature guided tours of “Maneuvers: They Came as Strangers and Left as Friends”, Antique Car Museum will feature 1940’s automobiles and military Vehicles, Granville Museum will feature Memories of the 1940’s and the town will be decorated in the 1940 era. The Granville Museum will be hosting the Tennessee State Museum Traveling Exhibit “ The Slaves & Slave Holders of Wessyngton Plantation” which will be on exhibit from March 9th till June 6th.

H.R.&R. members, PLEASE remember that we need all those who want to take the February 18th tour to the National Corvette Museum in Bowling Green to be signed up with me by February 1st. So far we have 38 people signed up, but we have room for more. Here are a few other details about the event:
* Guy Wilson is pre-paying for all guests and you do not have to pay him until the morning of the tour. The Museum insists on prepayment; however they also guaranteed that if we have inclement weather and cannot make the tour they will give us the option of rescheduling or a full refund. Remember the cost is $25 per person, including lunch and special presentations by members of the Museum staff. And since Guy doesn’t have a credit card machine, please bring cash in correct change if possible on the morning of the 18th.
Depart at 9:00 am – (approx. 176 mi – round trip)
MEETING LOCATION – “Loafers Glory” – 3511 Memorial Blvd, Murfreesboro, TN 37129
In spite of Tom being gone he has arranged for those that need caffeine to have pots of coffee and snacks in his lodge. There is a clean rest room on site. For those who need it, the first restroom stop is approximately a one hour drive. If you have to stop earlier along the way, do it and just get back on 231 and meet us at the 30 minute restroom stop at Westmoreland. Note; the warehouse and car shop will not be open without Tom being present.
REMEMBER: If you are signing up to have your Classic – Collector car or Modern Iron car photos taken, please try to arrive at least 30 minutes before we depart for Rick Jones to capture you and your rider(s) photos. This was described in Tom’s reminder on the 31st.
NOTE: This is a two lane, 55mph drive, which means that there are many miles that we will need to travel 58-60mph, if it is dry. PLEASE do not encumber those who live and work along the roads. And if the traffic circle in Lebanon slows us, don’t worry there is plenty of road to catch up.

Thanks to you, the first Dine Out Night of 2017 was a great success. There were 58 members attending, including many new members. It was a night of great food and even greater conversation. We got to catch up with each other on various topics for the first time since the Christmas Gathering in early December.
Thank you again for attending the January Dine Out Night at Garden Greek Grill. We look forward to seeing all of you at the next Dine Out Night on Tuesday, March 21.

Honk Rattle and Roll , Hope everyone is having a great New Year . Attached you will find information to our First Driving Tour for 2017 planned by Guy Wilson and Russ Barnes, your HRR Board Members . This will be a great tour to the Corvette Museum with NO FREEWAY DRIVING . Make sure you read all the information that explains in detail this activity . Tour directions to be sent soon after Guy and Russ drive this tour themselves for final route . As always we will leave together unless you are picking up the tour along the route and you leave the tour per your schedule . Honk Rattle and Roll has been asked to set up 1950’s – 1960’s car display at the Oakland`s Mansion Wedding Dress Show February 11th from 1:00 – 4:00 PM weather permitting ( no rain or snow ) with 8 – 10 Cars . If you would like to display your 50’s or 60’s cars please let us know by January 30th or earlier . Anyone bringing a car will receive free admission to the Wedding Dress Show . Barbara’s wedding dress along with many others will be on display from January 21, 2017 through March 5, 2017 .
