We want to thank the HRR Members who attended the July Dine Out Night on Tuesday, July 10 at Garden Greek Grill. We had 32 members in attendance and although we had spotty showers in the area, there were several of the “Old Iron” cars that participated. The food was really good and was served in abundant portions. There was a lot of conversation going on about numerous topics including member’s car projects, future Dine Outs, future Driving Tours, and other trips.
June Tour Pictures
On a very hot June day we began at Tom and Barbara Collins’ “Loafer’s Glory” for coffee and doughnuts and our usual safety briefing. With 13 great cars and 24 attendees, we were off at 9 am. Russ Barnes delivered up yet another fabulous route of approximately 157 miles.
HRR Represents at the AACA Central Spring Meet
HRR Members Carol Hughs with her 1954 Buick Roadmaster and Dick Fleener with his 1969 Dodge Daytona made a showing at the AACA Central Spring Meet in Auburn, Indiana on May 11th and 12th! Jim Stadler’s 1937 Chrysler C-14 also made the trip from Nashville to receive honors in this event. Carol, Dick, and Jim all received AACA Senior awards at this event; what an honor!
May 2018 Dine-Out Night at Sonic
HRR Members,
I want to thank the HRR Members who attended the May Dine Out Night on Tuesday, May 15th, at Sonic on Memorial.
For the second time this year, we had a weather event on our Dine Out Night. The first event of the year in January had to be cancelled due to snow and ice. This time we had rain and a thunderstorm that seemed to pop up right over our Dine Out location just before 6:00 p.m.
Since the sky and radar looked good prior to the event, there were already a number of us there with our Old Iron. All 34 of us in attendance had a wonderful time with good food, conversation and fellowship. Owner Bobby Arnold extended Honk, Rattle & Roll members a 50% discount for the event.
Thank you again for attending the May Dine Out Night at Sonic. We look forward to seeing all of you at the next Dine Out Night on Tuesday, July 10. The details will be announced later.

Several HRR members attended the Oaklands Mansion Car Display on May 12th.
April Tour Update
I just wanted to share a quick note to wrap up our great day last Saturday. I ordered good weather and it was delivered in sunshine!
Our day started a little earlier than usual on the west side of Murfreesboro at the Kroger parking lot, and as usual Tom brought donuts to be enjoyed off the hood of his car.
Fleeners Bring Home AACA National Show Award
Congratulations to HRR members Richard and Katrina Fleener who won a First Junior award at their first AACA National Show! The show was held in Mobile, Alabama from March 22nd through the 24th. The Fleeners showed their 1969 Nuremberg Dodge Daytona at the event.

March Dine-Out Night
We want to thank everyone who attended the March Dine Out this past Tuesday. This was a trip to Italy to Dine at Massimo’s La Tavola Ristorante Italiano (in Smyrna). The service and the food were excellent as was the conversation and fellowship.
This was the first Dine Out since November. As you recall, the January Dine Out was canceled due to weather. All 35 members in attendance had a wonderful time and feasted on a buffet of salad, several pasta dishes, pizza, and desert. The weather was perfect and the roads dry which made for a good opportunity to drive the Old Iron.
Thanks again for attending. We look forward to seeing you at the next Dine Out Night on Tuesday, May 15. The details will be announced later.

February Tour – Lane Motor Museum
Even with all the morning rain, the Honk, Rattle and Roll tour on February 17th proved to be another successful outing. Before leaving Loafers Glory, we recognized our Webmaster Matt Wilson for receiving the AACA 2017 Master Webmaster award. This distinction is for superior achievements in improving relationships with members and automotive hobbyists through internet communications.
The excursion did prove to be a slight challenge due to the rain. Many temporary streams and bodies of water were visible along our route. The rain did distract from viewing the scenery, but no significant driving problems were encountered.
Once arriving at the Lane Motor Museum, we all gathered for lunch in their conference room. After lunch and a few announcements, everyone was free to view the large array of vehicles assembled on the first floor of the museum. About one hour later, we assembled together for a guided tour of the lower level. This tour included vehicles being repaired and restored, vehicles ready to be cycled into the upper level museum, and just some unique specimens. The Nissan Heritage Collection that is stored in the lower level was also explored; this collection is not available to the general public.
After the guided tour, members were free to return to the upper level of the museum and continue viewing the collection or check out the gift shop. In total, we had 29 members and guests attend the event with 22 taking part in the drive.
